Property in Croatia collides with spam …
Oct 9th, 2007 | Category:UncategorizedIt had to happen sooner or later. The last 48 hours have been fairly busy for us, unfortunately not related to property in Croatia. The spammers have been out in force, sending a large volume of emails to unsuspecting individuals offering all those things one has come to expect of spam these days - in this case by sending emails purportedly originating from us. So, we join the likes of eBay, Paypal, a host of multi-nationals, banks, etc who have all been on the receiving end of whats called “email spoofing”.
If you check around the internet you’ll find thats its extremely easy to fake an email so it looks like it comes from a particular company, but in reality its spam, and was sent by someone unrelated to the organisation. We apologise wholeheartedly if you’ve received one of these emails, thinking it came from us. It didn’t! Our policy is very definitely one of not sending unsolicited emails - we hate them as much as the next person.
If you have received one of these emails then please, do what we have been doing the last day or so, and report these nuisance emails to the appropriate organisations. Some useful pointers can be found in an article published by Guardian Online. Also, if the spoof email is one of those “email your personal details to me” types with either a Yahoo or Gmail address in the body of the email text, report it to Yahoo here or to Google here. Back to business now!
