Croatia travel - Croatia vacations offer best buy this summer

Croatia features as one of the top three European best buy holidays for this summer, in an update to the UK’s Post Office Travel Services Holiday Costs Barometer published this week.

The report tracks prices across eighteen holiday destinations worldwide, using the lowest average prices in popular resort areas supplied by the tourist offices of participating countries.

Using a standard basket of ten holiday items, the total cost to purchase these items whilst on a holiday in Croatia comes in at GBP 64.76, compared to GBP 67.08 in Spain and GBP 68.93 in Greece. The basket of goods includes drinks, meals and other typical holiday purchases. The full breakdown can be found here.

Sarah Munro, Post Office head of travel services said:

“The eurozone has taken a bashing this year but our survey suggests that tourist outlets in many resorts are taking dramatic steps to encourage tourists. Despite the weak pound, this means that UK tourists who shop carefully could find that they get more than expected for their money.”
