The USA wakes up to Croatia?

In the Know Traveler.com reports that US Tour operators recently voted Croatia top in their category for “hottest-up-and-coming” travel destination for 2008. This prestigious title comes after December’s USTOA Conference held in Cancun Dec 2-4, which the Croatian National Tourist Board attended.
It seems that 2008 may well be a year to remember for Croatia as it basks in the glow of accolade after accolade. We recently reported that Tango Diva Travel Blog rated Croatia a “hot must travel to destination”. And in November, Country Brand Index rated Croatia as one of their Rising Stars, stating:
… as home to some of Europe’s finest Roman ruins as well as a string of coastal and island resorts, Croatia is now drawing flocks of travelers, making the country a rising star.
The Rising Star award is given to destinations likely to become a major tourist destination in the next five years.
