About Novigrad
The town of Novigrad is located on the north western coast
of the Istrian peninsula, only 45 miles from Pula airport
and 65 miles from Trieste airport. RyanAir flies to both
locations regularly.
Previously a medieval
fishing town, Novigrad
has developed into a popular tourist resort with
all the facilities one would expect.
With its pine forests and crystal clear sea, medieval
town walls, baroque palaces and beautifully sculpted
facades, Novigrad
has something for everyone. For sports lovers there
are numerous facilities including water
sports, tennis, beach volleyball, basketball,
football, mini golf, table tennis and others.
The more sedate visitor may prefer to visit one of the many festivals
and events the area offers, such as the Fisherman’s
Fiesta or the Music Nights open air festival during summer.
Novigrad is also becoming a popular sailing destination,
with its new 5-star marina rated as one of the best sheltered
marinas on the Adriatic.
For night life lovers,
Novigrad boasts a wide variety of clubs
and dance venues with live music, and open air cinemas
and casinos. There is of course a wide range of restaurants
to choose from;
or one can simply enjoy watching people stroll-by
whilst sitting at one of the many cafe bars and always
popular ice cream parlours.
Farther afield, the rest of Istria - Croatia's Tuscany - is waiting to
be explored, with its inland rolling hills and breathtaking
landscapes beckoning you on to visit the history-rich towns of
Porec, Umag and Rovinj. Or why not take a day trip to
Venice - only two and a half hours drive by car, or direct
from Novigrad by boat!
