When planning one day trips from Krk Island there is one destination that is irresistible – the city of Venice. Numerous activities and adventures await those visiting Venice. For example, the Santa Maria Del Giglio. With beautiful Baroque exteriors, the church was built and dedicated to Santa Maria del Giglio by Giuseppe Sardi. A trip through the church provides a view of some exquisite pieces of artwork painted during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. The beauty of the church’s exterior is found in the neighboring Croatian stone that was used to build the structure.
Plan a stop to the Guildhall of San Rocco. Completed during the sixteenth century, the museum houses paintings depicting scenes from the Old Testament painted by the artist, Tintoretto.
If you’d like to see Venetian life at its fullest then you will want to visit Cannaregio. Home to five synagogues you’ll enjoy the plentiful dining fare and shopping provided throughout the district. You’ll also enjoy visiting some of Venice’s wonderful theatres. The Goldoni Theater and the Malibran Theater are two exceptional examples that must be visited.
Palazzo Ducale, also known as the Doges Palace is an interesting architectural palace that was once home to the Doge of Venice. Visitors will enjoy the scenic views as well as the museum that is housed within. There, tourists will enjoy works by artists such as Veronese and Tintoretto. Additionally, you will want to make sure that you visit Palazzo Grassi, Scuola di San Rocco, Campanile di San Marco and Ca’ d’Oro.
